Doug Fir Beetle Issue

Spoke with my contact... here are their recommendations:


Create space between trees - cut and clear. This eliminates a path for the beetles to jump from tree to tree easily.


Best to thin, especially your older trees, or dead trees. The beetles avoid the young, healthy ones.


He also stated that they have found that the pheromone packs are only a temporary fix and not for long term.

BURN PILE ETIQUETTE

Please NO tree trunks.... we have to pay someone to take them down to the free dump.... they won't burn. Please only dump brush, leaves, pine cones, limbs, wood.... but NO nails or screw and NO pallet
