Sad day at William's lake as Gary VanVorce's home caught fire this morning around 3am.  Gary, his grandson, and the dogs made it out with no serious injuries.

The cabin was a total loss.  None of the nearby homes were damaged.

8 winter residents responded to the fire and water from the firebox was used to fight the flames.

Lemhi EMS, sheriff's office, and Idaho power also responded.

It is believed the hot water heater started the fire.

I believe Gary lost his cell phone in the fire as well, so reaching him may be difficult.

My heart goes out to Gary. So very thankful Gary and his dogs are OK and that there were people there who responded and did what was necessary to contain the damage.
